What is the drop-off procedure?

Drive up to the machine at the entrance barrier for your chosen car park and a ticket will be automatically issued. This is an On-Airport car park. You will not be required to leave your keys.

What is the pick-up procedure?

Drive up to the machine After collecting your luggage, proceed to the arrivals hall and turn left between the information desk and Spar shop for your return bus. At the exit barrier insert your ticket and the barrier should raise automatically.

The car park is okay. There aren’t many bus stops and it isn’t obvious where they go from. The buses aren’t as frequent as you’d expect. The car park seemed very secure but the lighting isn’t great if you are arriving or departing un the dark. The most annoying thing (and the second time it has happened with FHR) was that the barrier didn’t lift up automatically on exit and I had to call to get let out.

Was easy enough parking here at Long stay 1 East Mids although glad the weather was dry not enough shelter if weather bad Think extra buses should have been on duty though as both to and from the airport our bus was very over crowded Standing room only! It would appear everyone's forgotten about Covid now!! It's an expensive parking bay for a week

The car parking itself is very good and secure and you keep your key's, Regular bus to terminal. This was a one off for me as it is a long drive from where we live, but if we ever need to fly from here again we would use it.

Stoped in this car park for the first time in all the years of travelling and we can honestly say that this was hassle free parking catching the bus to the terminal and then back to our car will definitely use again and recommend

A competitive price for safe parking whilst abroad. Ample disabled parking (as my partner is a blue badge holder) which is a plus. Have used FHR for many years and will continue to do so. Would recommend highly.

Buses regular. Arrived early for car parking but still anpr detected registration plate and allows us entry. Again on way back out flight was delayed but we had a six hour leeway so again exited straight away. So much easier to park and pay than get a taxi or friend to drop us off. Will definitely use again

Arrived at 3.30am got space near Bus Stop 4 Closed no signs until you actually get to it which tells you to use Bus Stop 3 no directions looking around ito find it On return waited long time for bus packed people had to get off to let people get off at their stop and get back on to go to their stop ...

Whilst being some 3mts from your bus stop no.2 long stay your driver drove off leaving us to wait for him to return, not funny when disabled. Upon my return another half hour wait in a very chill wind. Perhaps you can get your act together and provide a decent service

The ANPR would not work to enter or leave the car park. This caused a delay when entering and leaving the car park. Other than this no problem. Transfer bus was only a short wait both times. Wanted a "meet & greet" but no longer available at East Midlands airport.

Directions for Long Stay 1

You cannot get a refund or amend a parking booking less than 72 hours before the day of travel. For example, your last opportunity to change your package, if you're flying at 3pm on the 10th, will be 23:59 on the 6th.

Important

During hot weather we recommend that removing all alcohol-based hand sanitiser products from vehicles when they are not occupied as they pose a risk of igniting and causing a fire.

Directions
Exit the M1 or A42 onto the A453. Follow the road until you reach the main entrance to the airport. Turn right into the airport. At the first roundabout, take the first exit. Carry straight on at the next roundabout, and take the first exit at the third roundabout. Go straight on at the fourth roundabout and follow the road until you reach a junction. Long Stay 1 is located on your left.

On arrival at the car park:
Drive up to the entrance barrier for your chosen car park and stop
The Automatic Number Plate Recognition system (ANPR) will read your vehicles number plate, verify this against your booking details and the barrier should then open automatically. Please note, this process may take up to 30 to 40 seconds to happen
If for any reason the barrier does not open after this time, please press the Assistance button and a member of staff will confirm your booking details with you and subsequently open the barrier to allow you entry
Please DO NOT press for a ticket to gain access to the car park, as this is not required and doing so will disable the ANPR system in relation to your booking
On exiting the car park:
Proceed straight to the exit barrier and stop
The ANPR system will read your vehicles number plate, verify this against your booking details and the barrier should then open automatically. Please note, this process may take up to 30 to 40 seconds to happen
If for any reason the barrier does not open after this time, please press the Assistance button and a member of staff will confirm your booking details with you (which will be the ref. starting EH in the comments section of your voucher) and subsequently open the barrier to allow you exit
Please DO NOT in any circumstance insert your credit card or debit card into the barrier as a further payment will be taken

Early or late? The car park offers a grace period of 4 hours outbound, and 6 hours inbound at their discretion. Any longer than this and you'll be charged the car park's standard rate of £15 per day, which is subject to change.
