Please note that your chosen car park has a vehicle height restriction of 2.1m (7ft) and does not accept the following vehicles: mini-buses; high-sided vehicles; mobile homes; lorries; caravans or vehicles with trailers We recommend that you give yourself 45 minutes to drop your car and keys off and transfer to the airport. You will be required to leave your keys at the car park. No vans accepted at this car park.

Adds about 15 mins to your trip to the airport but really efficient. You just roll up in your car, book in, get on the bus to the airport. Buses run every 15 mins. Really efficient on return, your keys and car are ready immediately

Easy to leave car and check in. Bus driver was lovely, very happy and gave out sweets. What a suprise !! Wasn't expecting such a warm welcome. Staff in office a bit surley but hey ho. Car intact when we arrived home and easy to find. Would definitely use again.

This was the first time we had used Purple Parking. It was very straight forward to park the car with a smooth transition to the airport. The same applied on the return journey. However we found the actual booking web site very confusing . lots of promises of a 15% discount which we were not sure whether we received it or not. That was very disappointing and very off putting. You should put the price for the journey up front so that the customer knows how much it is going to cost.

Really good and helpful experience at reception and our car was ready on our return. Only one small gripe, when we were picked up from Gatwick the bus driver was very miserable. Fair enough if he didn't want to smile or say hello but he pulled away before a couple of us had put our cases on the racks and being 20kg it was dangerous trying to get them on. The lower racks were full so we were in the process of lifting them when he was driving away. This was on the 12th of April about 6.45 am.

Please be aware it is important to check traffic updates before you leave. There are long-term scheduled roadworks on the M23 near Gatwick Airport. These include overnight closures to the M23 and M23 Junction 10, that may affect your journey to the car park.

From the M23 - Junction 9:
Exit the motorway and follow the signs for Gatwick Airport.
At the motorway roundabout with traffic lights take the 2nd exit and head towards the airport.
At the next roundabout go straight over towards the North Terminal.
At the next roundabout take the 4th exit heading towards Crawley/Redhill (A23).
Join the dual carriageway and carry on until the next roundabout (Longbridge Roundabout) and take the 4th exit heading back on the A23 towards Gatwick, Brighton & Crawley.
Carry on over the next roundabout staying on the A23 Southbound.
At the 2nd roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the Old Brighton Road South (Lowfield Heath/Charlwood).
Turn left at the mini-roundabout onto Charlwood Road.
Purple Parking is located 1½ miles ahead on the right hand side.


From the M23 - Junction 10:
Exit the motorway and take the 3rd exit signposted Crawley (A2011).
At the 1st roundabout take the 3rd exit signposted A2011 for Horsham.
At the next roundabout with traffic lights take the 4th exit towards Redhill/Gatwick (A23 Northbound)
Carry on over the next roundabout following the signs for Gatwick.
At the next roundabout take the 1st exit for Lowfield Heath/Charlwood.
Turn left at the mini-roundabout onto Charlwood Road.
Purple Parking is located 1½ miles ahead on the right hand side.


PLEASE NOTE: You will be required to leave your keys with reception as they will park your car whilst you transfer to the airport. Please also note that some Sat Nav devices aren't accurate enough with just the postcode, so please enter the full address.

On Arrival:
Drive through the barrier and park in the open arrival lane. Take note of your lane number and head to reception to check in - you'll need to have your booking confirmation details to hand. The receptionist will then inform you where to leave your keys and direct you to the shuttle bus.
You'll be given a ticket - keep this safe as you'll need to show it to the bus driver. It will also have instructions on the back for when you return.
Get the shuttle bus to the airport, while your car is parked for you. It takes 10 minutes to reach the North and South terminals. The bus runs 24 hours a day on the hour, 20 past the hour and 20 to the hour.

Returning home:
Catch the shuttle bus back to the car park - you'll need to show the ticket you were given at check-in to the driver.
From the North terminal:
Turn right out of the terminal, follow the signs to the bus stop and catch your bus at stop 6.
From the South terminal:
Go out of the terminal, head down to the ground level, turn left and catch your bus at stop 7 or 8.
Once you get back to the car park:
- Collect your keys from reception.
- Drive to the exit, the barrier will open automatically.
Note - If you return early you will need to contact the car park directly to give them as much notice as possible. If you don't, there may be a delay before you get your car back. No refund can be given for any booked parking that you don't use.

Essential information for a hassle-free trip

Larger or commercial vehicle? The car park has changed its terms and conditions meaning that some larger vehicles are no longer accepted. If your vehicle is one they won't accept you'll be charged an additional £25 per day when you arrive. Please read below for full details and check whether the car park will accept your vehicle before you book.

Purple Parking Park and Ride cannot accept:
- Commercial vehicles or minibuses of any variant.
- Single or double cab pickup trucks such as Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux or Nissan Navara.
- Medium-panelled or windowed vans such as a VW Transporter, VW Caravelle, VW Caddy, Ford Transit, Mercedes Vito, Mercedes Viano or short wheel-based vehicles of any description.
- Large panelled or windowed vans such as a Mercedes Sprinter, VW Crafter, Renault Master, Ford Transit or long wheel-based vehicles of any description.
- Any variant of camper van.
- Any vehicles over 2.1m high.
- Failure to comply with the above and you will be charged an additional £25 per day.
The car park will move your car to a self-park area and charge an additional £20 per day in any of the following cases:
- Not providing a key to your vehicle.
- Not deactivating ghost alarms (or not providing clear instructions to the team at check-in).
- Not removing steering wheel locks.
If you have an electric car, make sure it has enough battery charge to be moved through the car parks and last the duration of the stay otherwise the car park may charge you a fee. The car park does not offer electric charging.
We recommend that you leave 45 minutes to drop your car and keys off and get the shuttle to the airport.

Early or late? The car park offers a grace period until midnight at their discretion. Any longer than this and you'll be charged the car park's standard rate of £20, which is subject to change.
