What is the drop-off procedure?

Take a ticket at the entry barrier, then just park your car and walk across the road to the terminal. Keep your ticket somewhere safe, as you'll need it when you come back.

What is the pick-up procedure?

Walk back to the car park - it's a short stroll across the road. At the exit barrier, you'll need to insert your ticket and the barrier will raise and allow you to exit. If you have any problems, press the help button and quote your car park booking

What security measures does the car park have?

Took the option of parking on the Short Stay car park. It was so easy, it could not have been simpler. Parked the car and walked into the airport. Picked up the car and drove straight out. The system recognised my number plate and the barrier opened as we approached. Its a little more expensive but in my humble opinion, well worth the cost.

So easy and so accessible. Arriving home after a very long international flight I said to my husband isn't it fabulous that we can walk from terminal in two minutes and pick up our car. Excellent!

Information from Internet was clear and easy to understand. I was disappointed I had to pay for up to 2 days parking when I was only going to London for the day. I feel there should be a 24hour rate.

Directions for Short Stay 1

The airport is 10 minutes from Newcastle city centre on the A696. Turn right at the roundabout into the airport complex (or left if you're coming along the A696 from the north), then take the first exit at the next roundabout and follow the signs for the short-term car park - it's directly opposite the terminal. If you're using a sat nav, the postcode is NE13 8BZ.

Arrival Procedure
Take a ticket from the entrance barrier and enter the Short Stay car park. Proceed to an available parking space and take the short walk to the terminal building.

Departure Procedure
Collect your car and proceed directly to the short stay exit barrier and insert your ticket. Your booking reference and vehicle registration will be automatically verified to facilitate your exit from the car park. Should you experience difficulties, please press the Help button to speak to our operator quoting your 5 digit/letter car park booking reference.

The car park does not accept lorries or trailers.

There are designated Blue Badge bays, which work on a first come, first served basis. You'll need to display your badge while you're away.

The car park has two electric charge points, which are free for customers to use - they work on a first come, first served basis.
