Thistle Hotel in Heathrow

Good value airport hotel. Easy to use the Heathrow Pod from hotel. Although menu was limited the food was good. Will definitely use this hotel again if flying from Heathrow

The Thistle is a very reasonable choice for a pre-flight stay. The place looks as if it could do with a refurb but the rooms are comfortable and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed an excellent fish and chip supper with a good quality wine on the terrace overlooking the runway. Recommended.

Arrived at hotel at 10pm to find there were no parking spaces because the car parks were taken up by a conference that was due to finish after 11pm. Eventually parked at 11.30pm and got to my room for midnight before getting up at 5pm. I was not the only guest to experience this. The pod facility is very god, but even on my return a week later at 2pm other guests were driving in and out of the hotel experiencing the same problem I had. Will not use this facility again, sorry.

The room was spacious and well equipped with very comfortable beds and pillows. Parking was easy and near to the hotel. The directions to the hotel said not to follow SatNav but to follow the written instructions. We tried to do this and got hopelessly lost so put on SatNav and it took us straight to the hotel! Taxi to the airport was efficient if a little expensive at £18. On our return we just got a taxi at the taxi stand at the airport and it was only £110.

Brilliant location. Greeted by a very polite receptionis. Hotel is tired and old but very clean. The access to the pod service is great so would highly recommend.

Room clean and comfortable check in quick and easy . Don't recommend eating there ordered food and drinks in restaurant waited over half an hour for drinks that only arrived after we asked where they were then dinner took an hour and then was awful chicken very dry in fact inedible service appalling . On the plus side very convenient for the terminal using the pod . Would stay here again but would eat before I arrived.

Compared with the previous stays, the standard of service improved a lot. It used to take more than 30 minutes only to check in or out, however, this last time, everything including requesting assistance with luggage was dealt promptly and politely. Will definitely book again as long as the hotel management maintains the level of service for customers. Thanks!

Staff on arrival were very helpful and whilst initially we were confused we were quickly shown our parking area and timings for our shuttle bus. It might help if there was a board or screen showing timings for the shuttles though as some other= passengers near us asked us for timings. The hotel reception was clean and well laid out and although the rooms were basic were clean, had tea and coffee with on-suit bathrooms. Overall, we would stay there again as good value.

Easy to book & good value for money - however actually finding a suitable parking space at the hotel was something of a challenge as the car park was full and prople were parked on the grass verges, on the hatched areas by the roundabout in the entrance driveway and a lot of drivers were complaining about this.

Very happy with room etc. minor issue on arriving, as the hotel was holding a large wedding reception at the time and car parking was limited to being outside main entry into reception, so likely to cause issue to others. Reception were quite happy for me to leave car there, but I didn't wish to hav a telephone call during e night to move etc, and we were departing at 6am to Heathrow. Later another visit to reception, and they provide somebody to accompany me to find car parking space so all in all, good service. Unfortunately when I visited the bar for food, choice of toasted rolls limited to two, and unfortunately the bar staff member spoilt the first, as it completely stuck to the hot plates, ruining the toasty, and so second one was barely hot inside, just to try and ensure it was edible.

Ok hotel for the money. We had no overhead lights in our room when we arrived which meant we couldn't use the bathroom without keeping the door open! Therefore we couldn't have a shower in the dark. After 2 calls to reception (when we were told each time it would be a "few minutes") an hour and a half later no one had been to fix the lights so we went off to get some food. Had to ask again at reception when we got back and they then came and fixed the lights. Plenty of parking on-site and overall ok for the price.

A trouble-free service although the hotel was not well sign-posted and even the suggested postcode for satnavs failed to take us to the hotel although it got us close enough to spot it. The bedroom was small but the service was excellent. We liked the pod that took us to the Terminal. We would use the service again

Booking itself problematic as the site didn't enable me to book more than one night. I therefore had to book 2*1 night and run the risk I'd have to move rooms! No response from the site customer service email address either when I messaged them to understand how to book 2 nights... Hotel slightly dated but absolutely fine for a couple of nights. Tap in bathroom constantly leaking. Extra set of towels that was announced in the bathroom, not in the wardrobe as stated so had to request a further set. Restaurant and cafe good value and the Runway restaurant fun to sit in and watch take offs from alarmingly close quarters!

had a great stay here, very clean and tidy. Food was very good. Had a problem with or bill but didn't pick the it up till we were halfway to the airport, but when we got back and queried it they sorted it out straight away with no problems. Good customer service 10/10. Great that we could get the pod to terminal 5, saves loads of hassle.

A nice hotel but we didn't know it doesn't have a lift so very gratful we had a room on the ground floor! Nice meal in The Runway restaurant. Shame The Pod wasn't running to the airport we had to take the shuttle bus which took longer. Good value for money overall.

Directions to the hotel were confusing. The hotel was adequate. The room was fine but a long walk from reception. Service at reception was slow. Toilets in reception were in need of cleaning. Food was only served in 1 of the 2 bars, which was very crowded so it was difficult to get served. We chose this hotel for the Heathrow pod which goes "directly from the hotel" so were somewhat aggrieved to have a fair walk outside in the cold and rain, though we certainly thought the pod was great. The carparks were badly signposted but we very much liked the fact that our car stayed where it was and we did not have to hand over the keys.

Very convenient and good value stay and park. It would help to know how long the Hoppa to T2 would take, or arrival time. Food in the restaurant was fine.
