Description of Holiday Inn in Gatwick

Holiday Inn Gatwick Airport is just five minutes from the Airport. There's an excellent range of facilities and services for business and leisure travellers, inc. Free High Speed Internet Access. Family rooms have plenty of space and kids under 13 eat for free. Shuttle service runs 24 hours, every 15 mins 5am and midnight, every 30 mins through the night.

Rooms

All rooms have en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee tray, interactive TV, free high speed internet access, radio, trouser press and hair dryer. Day rooms available. Family rooms for 4 will consist of a double bed and a double sofa bed.

There are four suitable rooms in the hotel, available on request. Please advise at the time of booking.

Parking Arrangements

Drive to rear of hotel and park in short term parking. If you have booked the standard parking package your car will usually be parked on site in the hotel car park, however at very busy times, at the hotels discretion, your car may be moved off site to Maple Manor Parking. You must leave your keys at reception when checking in. Vehicles are left at owners risk.

Additional days parking are subject to availability and charged by the hotel at £16.00 per day

Airport Transfer Details

The Shuttle Bus runs 24 hours per day every 15 minutes and every half hour from midnight to 5am to both terminals.

Transfers are charged at £3.00 per adult and £1.50 per child each way, (under 5's free). Taxis can be arranged for approx £6 each way.

Eating & Drinking

The Restaurant offers a Carvery and an A la Carte Menu. Set Menu is £20 for 3 courses. (Menus can change depending on the volume of business, please check the offer proposed on the day). Light meals and snacks are available in the Hub Bar and Lounge area.

Breakfast Charges

Full English breakfast is £15.95 per person, FHR clients can purchase voucher at reception to get special £12 per person rate. Between 6am and 10am.

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Gatwick for the past 5 years before all our holiday flights. The parking is easy and transfers frequent. The rooms are comfortable and quiet with no noise from planes. Service in the hotel is very good and staff polite, food is good in the bar area. Will definitely stay again.

Difficult to find unless you realise (as I eventually did) that when the Satnav tells you first left off the roundabout it is trying to take you to the exit which is a one way system with barrier and no signs to indicate it is the Holiday Inn exit. Much confusion created! Reception and rooms satisfactory as were the parking arrangements, food and drink pricey. 20 Min wait for return transport which served several hotels with Holiday Inn last, so on balance next time I will use 'Meet and Greet'.

The room that we booked for our outward journey was a good size and was clean and in good order we had an evening meal at the Holiday Inn in the Restaurant which was very nice and we found the staff very helpful all in a pleasant stay the only compliant is that is quite hard to find the entrance to the Holiday inn. On the way back we stayed another night the room was smaller and we had a meal at the Bar which was fine we also had a lovely breakfast in the Restaurant in the morning we would definitely go back there given the opportunity.

The whole experience at the hotel was fantastic. Travelled down the day before our family holiday to take the stress away.; The room was adequate, the staff were extremely helpful on the day we stayed ad on the day we returned. We used the 10 day car parking which was so easy to use.

Tricky to find as the hotel signs are not illuminated! Standards of the hotel were good but do not like the use of disabled rooms as alternative arrangements for double rooms. Bathroom facilities are too low and quite awkward to use.

Room was adequate for an overnight stay. Food and cafÃ© ambience basic. Biggest grouse would be inadequate instruction to enter grounds we had to go through a barrier where the password for entry could not be seen in the dark Eventually somebody from reception came and let us in.The parking was chaotic without any obvious structure or control. We were told that on our return the car would be in a different car park. On return we collected the car keys from reception and were told that the car was now outside in a car park "to the right behind the wooden fence". Pulling our heavy cases in the rain we found that our car was one of 200 cars which took another 7 wet minutes to find.

Service good overall. Hotel comfortable. Surprisingly quiet for an overnight stay in such a busy place. Transfer to airport very smooth. Bit of a wait coming back so glad it was such a nice morning! It is a bit of a trek from the bus stop to the terminal too.

Really easy to book with FHR - returning customer! Hotel easy to find and was lovely. Easy check-in/out, helpful staff, nice clean spacious room with tea/coffee making, room service, hairdryer, bathroom products, bath/shower, plenty of towels and extra bedding, TV, phone. Nice bar/restaurant and great 24hr shuttle bus for Â£3.00pp each way just minutes from Gatwick. We parked the car and gave keys to reception which you collect on return. As it has a tracker, we tracked it's movement and happy to say it was only moved once as was advised, (unlike some places where cars have been driven and parked all over the place) and was ready on our return. A great bonus is that if you book through FHR then you get a discounted breakfast (Â£5 off!) We had a 8 day park and stay 1 night prior to flight package which was fantastic value and convenience. Definitely will continue to book FHR again and highly recommend it.

We have used this services from FHR for a few years and has always been a great service to have. The times we drove to an airport or taxi and got up at 2 or 3 in the morning, made the start of the holiday sleep catch up. a hotel and parking is great you get a great nights sleep before you depart, with your car looked after by the hotel.

Quite possibly the most uncomfortable room I have stayed in. The beds and pillows were overly hard and lumpy...impossible to get any sleep at all. It was very clean though, and the shower and bathroom were spotless. The shower was hot and powerful, and the towels were excellent....fluffy but still able to get you dry! Cars were rammed in every conceivable place! Our car was carefully parked however, but friends we travelled with were in a less valuable vehicle and their car was left on a grassy verge wedged between a fence and a lamp post!!!! Quite a chaotic parking experience. Food options and bar were very very expensive, and there was quite a lack of choices. Be prepared to book if you want to get into the restaurant. We didn't know, and were not prepared for that. On the plus side....it was an easy transfer to the terminal, and buses were regular. The staff were lovely, and very efficient on reception.....the bar staff were not quite so quick, but just as nice. I would stay there at the discount rates I paid, however, I would not pay the full rate. The deal I had meant that the room was basically free as the parking costs were the same as for parking only at Gatwick! If I was charged the Â£200plus rate advertised at the front desk....I would have been very disappointed. On balance...it was value for money, but don't expect five star experience.
