What is the drop-off procedure?

Drive up to the machine at the entrance barrier for your chosen car park and a ticket will be automatically issued. This is an On-Airport car park. You will not be required to leave your keys.

What is the pick-up procedure?

Drive up to the machine After collecting your luggage, proceed to the arrivals hall and turn left between the information desk and Spar shop for your return bus. At the exit barrier insert your ticket and the barrier should raise automatically.

Easy to book, easy to enter and leave the car park and when we arrived the bus driver noticed us park up and waited, which was very kind. The return journey however was not so good, we had to wait 20mins for a bus to arrive and when it did the driver was sharp and rude

Good value for money. Everything worked out as advertised. Barriers recognised the car number plate straight away upon arrival and departure. Prompt staff assistance when requesting a change of vehicle to be parked. Busses arrive regularly at bus stops. Would definitely use again.

Good car park with regular bus service. I have found that on occasions when you need bus stop and other passengers are stopping on the bus its chaotic getting off because no-one is willing to move so you can get your cases. It is possibly better to park near bus stop three but this could cause you a problem getting on to a bus that's nearly full.

Arrived as planned at East Midlands Airport and within 5 minutes of parking up, the bus had arrived took me to the departures area. On my return I feel the signage could be better. I was parked in the Long Stay 4 car park. As I came out of baggage collection it pointed the way out of the terminal building to the pick up for Long Stay 4. Once I got outside the building it had sign posts for Long Stay 1 2 and 3 but not 4. If it hadnt been for the bus being parked up with a sign in the bus for Long Stay 4 I would not have known where to go. I do not believe there was any signage at the bus stop indicating this was the place to wait for the pick up. Once I was on the bus, the driver was pleasant and we departed to pick my car up within about 5 minutes of getting on the bus. Overall a good experience on the buses, just the signage to improve. Parking was easy with number plate recognition for entering and leaving the car park. Self parking so no issues with someone else moving car adjusting seats etc.

The parking procedure and exiting procedure at the electronic gates worked perfectly. Better signing within the carpark would help to find spaces and to exit.

On departure I was left stranded at the barrier. It seemed that the camera did not recognise my numberplate. Despite ringing for assistance and waiting for several minutes there was no response and no assistance. The car next to me had the same experience. After getting everyone in the line to back up I was able to reverse to allow another vehicle try. Eventually another car was able to get the barrier to work somehow, and I finally escaped by tailgating. My experience suggests that if you get into difficulties, you shouldn't expect much service at East Midlands Long Stay carpark. Not pleasant if you have no one you can tailgate. Miserable service.

The car park was fine once I got in. The entrance ticket machine did not recognise the car so the barrier never opened. I spoke to your office via the intercom button and eventually was let in once I have found and advised the EH number (in the car boot!). The ticket did not have my car registration number printed on it but it did work to let me out on my return. Never had this problem before.

Good car-park but quite a way from the terminal. The bus service (and its signposting in the terminal) could be better. Allow half an hour for this. Good service from FHR who were very responsive when I phoned to make a change to the booking when the airline changed its flight time.

Excellent service but one improvement can be made. Upon returning and coming out of east midlands airport the car park signs didn't refer to the no4 car park. Even when I went in to the inquiries office it was clearly a joke! So the car parking signs at the airport need to include long stay car park no4.

FOUND THE CAR PARK FAIRLY EASILY EVEN THOUGH IT SEMED A LITTLE FAR FROM AIRPORT.ON ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE FROM CAR PARK THE ANPR WORKED SUPERBLY.ONLY HAD TO WAIT APPROX 10 SECS.

Directions for Long Stay 1

You cannot get a refund or amend a parking booking less than 72 hours before the day of travel. For example, your last opportunity to change your package, if you're flying at 3pm on the 10th, will be 23:59 on the 6th.

Important

During hot weather we recommend that removing all alcohol-based hand sanitiser products from vehicles when they are not occupied as they pose a risk of igniting and causing a fire.

Directions
Exit the M1 or A42 onto the A453. Follow the road until you reach the main entrance to the airport. Turn right into the airport. At the first roundabout, take the first exit. Carry straight on at the next roundabout, and take the first exit at the third roundabout. Go straight on at the fourth roundabout and follow the road until you reach a junction. Long Stay 1 is located on your left.

On arrival at the car park:
Drive up to the entrance barrier for your chosen car park and stop
The Automatic Number Plate Recognition system (ANPR) will read your vehicles number plate, verify this against your booking details and the barrier should then open automatically. Please note, this process may take up to 30 to 40 seconds to happen
If for any reason the barrier does not open after this time, please press the Assistance button and a member of staff will confirm your booking details with you and subsequently open the barrier to allow you entry
Please DO NOT press for a ticket to gain access to the car park, as this is not required and doing so will disable the ANPR system in relation to your booking
On exiting the car park:
Proceed straight to the exit barrier and stop
The ANPR system will read your vehicles number plate, verify this against your booking details and the barrier should then open automatically. Please note, this process may take up to 30 to 40 seconds to happen
If for any reason the barrier does not open after this time, please press the Assistance button and a member of staff will confirm your booking details with you (which will be the ref. starting EH in the comments section of your voucher) and subsequently open the barrier to allow you exit

Early or late? The car park offers a grace period of 4 hours outbound, and 6 hours inbound at their discretion. Any longer than this and you'll be charged the car park's standard rate of £15 per day, which is subject to change.
