What is the drop-off procedure?

On arrival enter car park and park in lanes as indicated. Details for checking in and airport transfers will be displayed. Please allow 50 minutes for check-in and the transfer to the airport. At busy times, please allow yourself an additional 30 min

What is the pick-up procedure?

The shuttle buses back to the car park leave from bays M and N right outside the terminal. Driver will advise you of car collection procedure when you get back to the car park. Overstays will be charged £20 per extra day or part thereof.

What security measures does the car park have?

Vehicles with a taxi license plate can be parked on-site, but cannot use the Return Greet or Meet and Greet services offered by Airparks.

Simple to use Prompt Friendly staff Would be full stars but the bus transfer was a very crowded bus with too many people including children standing and with cases everywhere I think this is dangerous

Had to stand in the rain before a bus arrived to take us to the airport. Took longer tan advertised to get to the airport even though we were on a very early flight. Coming back was fine, though we were lucky that we were the last ones on the bus.

Would be a 5* review but I wasn't so impressed by the driver on our return from Luton airport. It was very late at night and the bus was extremely full, we were lucky to get on it, so thank you to her for that. But she had allowed a couple with small twins in a buggy to stand at the front of the bus, right next to her (the driver). Ok, that's not too bad - but she then spent about 30-40% of the driving time turning to face them talking to them about the kids and the fact she hadn't been able to have kids of her own! I just didn't feel safe.

Mostly, their system worked very well. On arrival, the check in system didn't recognise my booking number but it did then recognise my car registration and worked perfectly (with a little assistance from their employee) from then on. It was straight forward and the return worked perfectly. No major complaints!

No problems checking in and catching the bus. Bus was there on return - again, no problems. Easy to find your key on return to the car park. Everybody helpful. The only thing that meant 4 instead of 5 stars was that the bus was absolutely chocca full. Not enough room for luggage and passengers. It took ages to load at both ends, trying to cram everything and everyone on. Maybe more buses? Or run more often?

Directions for Airparks

Coming from the North (M1)
Leave the M1 at junction 10
At the motorway roundabout, take the first exit from the north onto Airport Way A1081.
Keep in the left hand lane and take the slip road signposted towards St. Albans, Harpenden A1081.
You'll come out onto a roundabout where you should take the first exit onto London Road.
At the next roundabout, take the second exit signposted St Albans, Harpenden A1081.
Turn left onto the B4540, signposted Slip End and Markyate.
At the traffic lights, turn right onto Grove Road.
Take the first left onto the service road.
Airparks will be on the right after about 100 meters.

Coming from the South (M1)
Leave the M1 at junction 9.
At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A5183
Continue on A5183 for approximately 2 miles and at the traffic lights turn right onto B4540 (Luton Road towards Luton)
Continue on B4540 for approximately 1.5 miles into Slip End village and at the traffic lights turn left onto Grove Road.
Take the first left onto the service road.
Airparks will be on the right after about 100 meters.

Some travellers have had trouble finding Airparks with their sat navs, so we suggest you take our directions into account. If you choose to use a sat nav to get to the car park, make sure you use the full address to avoid getting lost.

On arrival:
Pull up at the entrance barrier, which will lift after a few seconds (all cars coming into the site are recorded on CCTV). Park in one of the arrivals bays, then head into the check-in building. You check yourself in using the machines - it's a very quick process, though you'll need to have a copy of your booking confirmation with you. There's a member of staff on hand to help if you need it

The machine will give you a tag, which you should attach to your keys, and a ticket, which you should keep safe as you'll need it later. Drop your keys in the box with the same number as the lane you've parked in. Your car will be parked for you, so just head to the waiting area and hop on the bus to the airport. You'll need to show your ticket to the driver.

If you have sports equipment or lots of luggage, you may need to wait for a bus with more space during busy times, so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to get to the airport.

Returning home

Catch the shuttle bus from bus bay 17 – you’ll need to show the driver your ticket. Once you’re back at the car park, head to the check-out shelter and follow the instructions on the key dispenser – it will return your keys and tell you where your car is parked.

Then just drive to the exit barrier - you'll need to insert your ticket to scan the barcode attached to your keys, and then the barrier will lift. If you lose your ticket, you'll need to go to reception, answer some security questions, then show a photo ID, so make sure you have one with you.

If you return early, you will need to contact the car park directly to give them as much notice as possible. If you don't, there may be a delay before you get your car back. We can't offer you a refund for any booked parking that you don't use.

Essential Information

If you have sports equipment or lots of luggage, you may need to wait for a bus with more space during busy times, so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to get to the airport.

If you come back to a flat battery, the car park will be happy to jump start your car for free.
We normally advise our customers to give themselves 40 minutes to park at Airparks and transfer to the airport - longer during the rush hour between 4am and 8am. However, there are currently roadworks on the M1 between junctions 6a and 12, so we advise you to leave extra time for your journey to Airparks too. More information is available on the Highways Agency website.

Hi there, I'm worried about my return flight being delayed, as I don't wish to pay extra charges.I read that there is a grace period up until midnight. However, my flight isn't scheduled to land until 10pm. I noticed that if i book up until about 09:30 the following morning, the price is the same. Is it safer to do this, to avoid extra charges? And then just inform staff when I've landed?You can do that if you like, as that would cover you. However, the vehicles are bought out of the main storage compound ready for customers to collect, so I would,t add too much extra time or your car may not be bought out of the compound if you are several hours earlier

I do not know my return date. If I book via an online site and come back several days early is that ok?You can return earlier thrn the time you have booked but you would not get a refund for any unused days
