Had pre-booked at a good price. Glad I new where I was going as quite a way from airport. Struggled to enter my reservation number as physical keyboard on automated machine only had numbers! Guess this was for editing credit/debit card details if I'd not pre-booked! Touch the screen and you get a virtual screen to type on - I needed assistance! Do take on board the warning of allowing plenty of time - advertised transfer time of 9 mins is wildly optimistic - especially at busy times - took me 35 mins early on a weekday! My flight from Hamburg was bang on time and just made shuttle bus (only 20 mins to wait if we'd missed it). Hoping to know how to use automated machine to retrieve my car key. No need - helpful attendant on duty scanned my ticket and gave me my car key within seconds. Asked where car was - "out the front sir." Excellent! Can't guarantee other customers will have their cars parked so close - but a great bonus - almost valet parking! Close to M1 and equally convenient for A5. Very impressed and will certainly use again but just remember to allow plenty of time while current roadworks at M1 Jn 10A continue! (and you may have to walk further than I did to get car back!)

Dropping off and picking up of car was simple, the only thing which irritates me is having to wait for the bus standing in the rain before we departed to the airport when 2 busses were parked up running 10 meters from us

I have used this car park at Slipend on many occasions over a number of years, I found the parking area much improved with dedicated bays giving plenty of room around the car. The new booking in and return service was good The transfers to airport ran to schedule with helpful staff. We had a person needing wheel chair and it would have helped if we could have booked assistance in transfer to the departure terminal at the same time as booking in the car. I will use the service again at this and other airports Thanks J Edwards

I have used Airparks many times but was disappointed on this occasion. The car had clearly been parked under a tree or similar and was very heavily soiled by bird droppings. I dropped the car off clean so to come back to a car that was so badly soiled I had to pay for a clean is unacceptable.

The car park was fairly easy to find. Upon arrival I checked in using the touch screen system, someone was there guiding everyone through the process. Had to wait about 15 minutes for the bus to depart but once on board it was a very quick trip to the airport. Very loud music was played on the bus which I enjoyed but some may prefer a quiet journey. On return the the bus was waiting but pulled away as I ran towards it so had to wait for another. Collecting my car was easy as you scan your ticket and an automated machine dispenses your key.

Check in was quite confusing and had to wait 20 mins for the coach. Returned late and was dark - had a large clump of dried concrete on car door when we looked in the morning. Unlikely we will use this carpark again.

It would be extremely helpful to have toilet facilities at Airparks, as facilities in Arrivals at Luton Airport involvearoute march upstairs - absolutely not convenient and need to be addressed by the relevant authority-not your worry obviously. Also having booked on line with all the relevant details of the car details it would be much more helpful if when going to check in - keying in the booking reference if these details sprang to life rather than having to key them all in again, saving time.

Probably an advantage but there are no people to deal with any more! Check in by machine, check out by machine... Buses to airport now 20 minutes apart. Many airport car park operators operate them 10 mins or on demand. Unpleasant waiting 20 mins in the cold and rain. Outdoors on return.

Outbound - Easy to find,straight forward computerised system with staff on hand to help out, quick and easy transfer, comfortable bus, cheerful and helpful driver. Return - Bus waiting for us at 2am, quick transfer and easy to collect keys with process explained by driver, easy to locate car and exit facility. inside of car cleaned even though we had not requested this.

All automated at the check in and collection of keys . Found the collection of the keys a bit strange after swipping the ticket it did not say the keys were being dispatched and we had to wait a while until they appeared. The customer behind us swipped his ticket and ours appeared.Otherwise very efficient service .

Directions for Airparks
Coming from the North (M1)Leave the M1 at junction 10
At the motorway roundabout, take the first exit from the north onto Airport Way A1081.
Keep in the left hand lane and take the slip road signposted towards St. Albans, Harpenden A1081.
You'll come out onto a roundabout where you should take the first exit onto London Road.
At the next roundabout, take the second exit signposted St Albans, Harpenden A1081.
Turn left onto the B4540, signposted Slip End and Markyate.
At the traffic lights, turn right onto Grove Road.
Take the first left onto the service road.
Airparks will be on the right after about 100 meters.
Coming from the South (M1)
Leave the M1 at junction 9.
At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A5183
Continue on A5183 for approximately 2 miles and at the traffic lights turn right onto B4540 (Luton Road towards Luton)
Continue on B4540 for approximately 1.5 miles into Slip End village and at the traffic lights turn left onto Grove Road.
Take the first left onto the service road.
Airparks will be on the right after about 100 meters.
Some travellers have had trouble finding Airparks with their sat navs, so we suggest you take our directions into account. If you choose to use a sat nav to get to the car park, make sure you use the full address to avoid getting lost.
On arrival:
Pull up at the entrance barrier, which will lift after a few seconds (all cars coming into the site are recorded on CCTV). Park in one of the arrivals bays, then head into the check-in building. You check yourself in using the machines - it's a very quick process, though you'll need to have a copy of your booking confirmation with you. There's a member of staff on hand to help if you need it
The machine will give you a tag, which you should attach to your keys, and a ticket, which you should keep safe as you'll need it later. Drop your keys in the box with the same number as the lane you've parked in. Your car will be parked for you, so just head to the waiting area and hop on the bus to the airport. You'll need to show your ticket to the driver.
If you have sports equipment or lots of luggage, you may need to wait for a bus with more space during busy times, so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to get to the airport.

Returning home
Catch the shuttle bus from bus bay 17 – you’ll need to show the driver your ticket. Once you’re back at the car park, head to the check-out shelter and follow the instructions on the key dispenser – it will return your keys and tell you where your car is parked.
Then just drive to the exit barrier - you'll need to insert your ticket to scan the barcode attached to your keys, and then the barrier will lift. If you lose your ticket, you'll need to go to reception, answer some security questions, then show a photo ID, so make sure you have one with you.
If you return early, you will need to contact the car park directly to give them as much notice as possible. If you don't, there may be a delay before you get your car back. We can't offer you a refund for any booked parking that you don't use.

We normally advise our customers to give themselves 40 minutes to park at Airparks and transfer to the airport - longer during the rush hour between 4am and 8am. However, there are currently roadworks on the M1 between junctions 6a and 12, so we advise you to leave extra time for your journey to Airparks too. Hi there, I'm worried about my return flight being delayed, as I don't wish to pay extra charges.I read that there is a grace period up until midnight. However, my flight isn't scheduled to land until 10pm. I noticed that if i book up until about 09:30 the following morning, the price is the same. Is it safer to do this, to avoid extra charges? And then just inform staff when I've landed?You can do that if you like, as that would cover you. However, the vehicles are bought out of the main storage compound ready for customers to collect, so I would,t add too much extra time or your car may not be bought out of the compound if you are several hours earlier
