Terrible experience, on returning from holiday we stood waiting for mini bus to take us to car park for 45 minutes. We are pensioner's age 73 & 66 . We had to walk as far as the car park went as there was no spaces close to airport. We had to walk & struggle alone carrying 2 large suitcase & 2 hand luggage. We are so disappointed, tired, angry , frustrated customers who will not be booking again !!

On leaving the car park at the end of our holiday, when I went into the office to gain an exit ticket, the person on duty had no record of our booking reference. Luckily he issued us with a ticket.

While the car park offered good value for money (as opposed to taking taxi), it wasn't entirely suitable for my personal circumstances as I am disabled, elderly and am unable to lift or carry luggage. When we arrived there were no disabled spaces available so then began the hunt to find a suitable place to park (this was at 3:45 am) that allowed me room to get out of my car easily and also was near a pick up point. As it happened, the place where we parked had a pick up point nearby (no.10) but the communication system to request the bus was not working and at that time there was no sign of the courtesy bus in the car park so we had to begin walking. Fortunately, on our return, we managed to get the bus straightaway and it dropped us close to where my car was parked. Although our return flight was delayed, the exit procedure was simply and problematic-free.

FHR as a company great. Clear instructions and good price. The car park itself is fine and the arrival and departure through the gate was efficient. However, on return to Newcastle, after 10 minutes waiting, we realised that the courtesy bus from the terminal to the long stay car park wasn't operating. Later discovered that it doesn't operate between 16.30 and 20.00 hours. Really?! We only had 2 cabin bags but observed families with young children and lots of luggage making the long walk to their vehicle. This needs sorting out by Newcastle Airport.

Car parking was straight forward. When we returned we found it very difficult to find our car, as it’s a massive car park. I know it’s our responsibility to take note of where we are parked. I think if the signage was more prominent and brighter it may make it a little easier. It’s even worse at nighttime.

long stay car park quite a walk from airport. Not nice either. Through car park , then along narrow pavement which did not have a drop down for trolley.l. All spaces and car areas nearer cordoned off as full. Also no proper indicators to locate your car. We had to really work out what was near- very few identifying markers. On the way back there were about 4 sets of people trying to find our cars! Not great in the middle of the night!

The airport is 10 minutes from Newcastle city centre on the A696.Turn right at the roundabout into the airport complex (or left if you're coming along the A696 from the north).
Take the first exit at the next roundabout and follow the signs for the long stay car park.

From there, it's a short walk to the term

Early or late? The car park offers a grace period up until midnight at their discretion. Any longer than this and you'll be charged the car park's standard rate of £12 per day. This is subject to change.
