Europa Hotel in Gatwick

As somewhere to sleep the night before an early morning flight it was ok. Comfortable clean bed and the reception desk staff were helpful. The bathroom and furniture could do with updating. Towels looked ancient. Bar snack was fine.

We arrived about 8pm and could not find a parking space. I went to reception to ask advice and was told to park on the grass verge next to the road and look for a space prior to leaving for the airport the next morning. The car parking area is only partly designated with white lines and in places very over grown. The rest of the car parking area has no white lines so parking is very rendum. The hotel in general and its rooms are tired and require updating.The staff, however, were very pleasant and efficient although working in difficult circumstances. Leaving my car in, thankfully, a designated parking space the next day for 15 days was a worry. To me it would appear that the owners are more interested in making profit but investing in the hotel infrastructure. I will not use this hotel again.

Perfect for what we wanted. A meal, a bed and a short journey to the airport. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Easy to find location. We would certainly use it again

We had a flight at 09:00 am so thought we would travel to Gatwick the night before and book 2 hotels room to get a decent nights sleep. When we arrived there was no car parking spaces available, we were told we could park on a grass verge outside the hotel and bring car in to park in the morning. We went to bed, but at about 2:30 the hotel fire alarm went off. On going to reception we were told it was a false alarm, somebody had been smoking in their room. We could go back to bed. Unfortunately the alarm was still going off more than 2 hours later! No apologies were made by any members of staff, indeed their attitude was couldn't care less. I then had to get up at 05:30 to find a parking space which took more than 30 minutes to find a space. So much for a good nights sleep! Would never use this hotel again.

The hotel is so tired it's unbelieveable, moldy showers, holes and stains on the carpet, furniture was so battered it was well beyond its shelf life. The car park is not secure, there was no evidence of any security and anyone could come in and break in to your car. All tarmac areas were taken, we had to take a very expensive car down a pot holed gravel trap and leave it in a dark corner, it was a miracle nothing happened to it. Next time I'll pay a bit more. Plus point, the gentleman on the night reception was helpful, but we felt for him due to the amount of complaints he must have to field.

im sorry to say in my opinion the room was not in good conditions for customers, the carpet was all dirty and full of holes and paint everywhere, the curtains were full of mold and there was a very strong smell of paint in the room witch was very uncomfortable to stay in. the chair was dirty and full of paint and dust. it was a bad value for the condition it was in, and my wife had allergy due to the smell in the room.

Parked car at hotel and travelled to and from airport by taxi at a cost of £9 each way. Good value for money and taxi was on time and helpful.

Have stayed at hotel before so knew what to expect. Hotel is easy to get to and good for Gatwick airport. Didnt have any food so no comments-rooms clean and adequate, and quiet. perfect for an overnight stay before flying.

The Europa Hotel is convenient for an overnight stay before an early flight. The rooms are comfortable and clean. if a little "tired" The air conditioning is often set too high for my taste but can be easily adjusted. Staff are pleasant and helpful. There is a large bar area where you can get simple meals, or a larger restaurant serving carvery-style dinner. The hotel has an arrangement with a local taxi firm to take you direct to the terminal at a reduced rate, which is very useful. Leaving your car on-site is useful, although some of the car parking areas are a little out-of-the-way, and feel less secure than one might hope ( not lit and close to public road). Overall, a good budget option for a pre-flight stay.

Room was very dusty and dated. Partner suffers from asthma so quite affected by the dust and nearly had to stay elsewhere. OK for parking.

The decoration though out the hotel is tired and starting to look shoddy. We had to be moved from first room due to faults within it. The staff were very helpful. The electronic key pad on the second room, which was an upgrade, didn't work. The food is plentiful but not up to the old standard. There is no longer a shuttle bus and the taxi is a bit hit and miss. I doubt that I could recommend it to anyone and I suspect this will be our last stay, unless it is refurbished.

The Hotel needs a good makes over, all doors need repainting, corrididors need new carpets, no cold drinks machine so couldn't get a drink as the bar was closed. Arrived to the hotel at about 01:45 after a long day traveling from Hurghada Egypt. Had an adjoining room to us who had tv on all night! I was woken up at 7am buy someone opening our room door, i presume/hope it was the cleaner. I booked as we were traveling from Gatwick to Egypt for our holiday of 18 nights and it was a good deal with parking the car even with the £19.99 i was expecting to pay as we live in Birmingham, When i booked it said if car parking was over 14 nights, when car is to be collected £19.98 was to be paid... I was charged £25! If it wasn't for the fact it was so early in the morning and i needed sleep after a very long day i would have drove back to Birmingham there and then!

Easy Booking, Great Directions, Good Food, Comfortable Room, Bit Tight on Parking Spaces but we got one OK, Receptionist gave good Information. Only down side was taxi driver returning us to Hotel did not make himself known to us at Airport, and car didn't look like a taxi, so we were waiting a long time at the correct pick up place holding up the flyer given to us not knowing he was actually waiting for us.

Was only £80 for the night for 4 of us and 15 days parking, which is a great price!! However; car park not even slightly secure! Room was not pleasant. would not use again.
