When we arrived at the car park, we thought we'd used the wrong directions. Poorly sign posted reception. Reception staff and drivers were very nice and extremely helpful. They loaded all of our luggage on to the bus so we could board with our two children. Transfers to and from the airport take literally 5 minutes. The big downside to Callerton car parking is the state of the mini buses. The one which took us to the airport and picked us up looked like it was ready for the scrap heap. The upholstery in the bus looked as if it had lost a fight with a Rottweiler and the sliding door giving access to and from the bus had a handle missing. Very poor, especially in emergency situations. In short, the plus sides were the staff who were very friendly and helpful. The minus side was the state of the buses. I would recommend to a friend with reservations. This could be a great company if they spent a little on upgrading their transport.

First impressions were poor, looked more like a bomb site, cars jam packed like sardines, was worried what I was coming back to, but efficient and courteous , Mini bus was very off putting by looking a bit dirty and damaged, but car was fine on return with no damage.

Only problem was when we arrived back at Newcastle Airport at 1.00am on 27th July only to find that both telephone numbers we had been given for Callerton were not working. Other passengers were having the same problem. However, Callerton turned up at the right time anyway and collected us.

When I collected my car I noted there was an additional 14 miles on the odometer. While I assume this is due to off-site parking, it makes it difficult to assess things like the security, if not seen. Also - this should be communicated. Some cars do 14 mpg!

The only issue was that at 23.00hrs when the flight arrived, there was only one attendant at the car park to man the office, sort the cars out and drive the shuttle. This caused a delay in the shuttle arriving and the driver was clearly under pressure.

Car park facility seemed cramped and chaotic when we arrived, but staff were quick and friendly. Car was ready and waiting when we returned but was badly splashed with mud. I understand that the weather conditions had been appalling while we were away, but it would only have taken minutes to have used a power hose on the car to take away the worst of the mud.

The actual car park looked like a scrap yard, I had to question staff on site to make sure I was in the right place. The transfer bus looked like building workmen transport, it was absolutely filthy and in disrepair heald together inside by gaffa tape. I will definitely not be using this car park again.

Directions for Newcastle - Callerton Parking
Please be aware that satellite navigation systems are not guaranteed to take you directly to the car park, please use the directions provided below. We cannot be held responsible if you fail to locate the car park or are delayed.FROM THE A1, take the slip road to the left, signed A696 Jedburgh and Airport; go along the A696 to the airport taking the 2nd slip road on the left, signed Woolsington & Throckley. At the top of the slip road turn right, go straight over the roundabout, Callerton Parking is located on the right, just before the Metro lines.
SOUTHBOUND on A68/A696, go through the village of Ponteland towards Newcastle, straight over at the roundabout and along the dual carriageway. After approx. 500 yards, take the first slip road on left for Woolsington & Throckley. At top of slip road turn left, Callerton Parking is located on the right, as you approach the Metro lines.
EASTBOUND on the A69, travel along the A69 until you come to a turn off for Throckley. At the end of the slip road turn left onto the B6323. At T-junction turn right and continue on the road, taking the 2nd turn in left, signed Black Callerton (ignore 1st turn in for the Airport). Follow the road for approx. 2 miles. When you reach roundabout, go straight over, Callerton Parking is located on the right, just before the Metro lines.
On arrival
Please report to the car park Reception on arrival and present your confirmation Voucher or FHR Booking Reference number. A member of our team will transfer you on our courtesy bus up to the terminal.
On return
On return, proceed to where the bus dropped you off on arrival (the large bus shelter directly in front of the terminal, just in front of the express car park). This is where the new pick up point is. One of our representatives will be awaiting your return to take you back to Callerton Parking.

What happens if I notice damage to my vehicle not caused by myself but after being parked at Callerton car park? It was dark when I collected my vehicle so I was unable to see any damage until I returned home. No car park will normally not allow claims after the car has been taken out of the car park.
