First time at East Midlands airport everything fine apart from number plate reconisation not working bit of a wait to talk to somebody to let you out

Very convenient with a walk of approx 5 minutes across to the terminal. We were delayed in a queue on the main road as we assume someone was struggling with the automatic access - this was easily over 5 minutes and would be of concern if running late for your flight - always assuming that the barrier will eventually open! The short walk is OK but I did think that it would not be ideal if there was snow on the ground!

Unfortunately barrier did not rise automatically going, but easily contacted person to raise barrier. Coming back was much worse. There was a long queue at the barrier which didn't seem to respond at all, and slow response to pressing enquiry button

Good customer service. I had a problem with the booking and BookFHR called me to resolve this. There was also an issue at the car park not reading the Reg plates of cars - this will be an issue at the airport rather then with BookFHR. Again, good customers service as this was sorted without inconvenience.

I had already been in the same car park a few days before visiting Lapland but on my second visit a few days later it would not let me enter the car park, although two different bookings, it did not like me visiting twice in one week. Had to wait to talk to someone then had to have a car parking ticket

Booking was fine, only downside is that the car park is difficult to navigate in the dark as it isn't very well marked end up in lots of deadends with not enough room to turn round.

As a woman travelling on her own there needs to be better lighting on the car park! It did what it said on the tin but I will go back to meet and greet with future travels

Car Park is within a few minutes walk to the terminal. I have only given 4 stars as the turns in the car park are quite narrow when the car park is full and a struggle with an Audi Q7!

Booked 4 days stay online - easy to do and download paperwork. On arrival at car park, the system did not recognise my number plate and I had to take a ticket. This meant visiting the car park office on my return to get the ticket validated. This the staff did with no problems. For some reason, I assumed the car park was under cover - not so, also, the marked spaces are very tight.

Paid in advance,then had to drive around for 30 minutes plus. Ultimately had to parked by one of the bus stops. There are not enough parking spaces.

The carpark is close to the airport, so not far to walk the spaces could be little bit wider so you can open the car doors when you park in the space. other than that everthing else ok.

This long stay car park 1 is very convenient to the East Midlands Airport Terminal. We have used FHR whenever we need to park a car at an airport, both for valet parking & own parking. The service is straightforward to use, your reminders sent just beforehand are welcome. One comment regards EMA - the automatic number plate system did not appear to work on both entry & exit - on entry the barrier raised after pressing the call button - on exit we needed to press the call button & were asked for our surname.

Directions for Short Stay 3

Important

During hot weather we recommend that removing all alcohol-based hand sanitiser products from vehicles when they are not occupied as they pose a risk of igniting and causing a fire.

Getting here
On arrival at the airport main entrance, please turn left at the roundabout and then follow signs to Short Stay 3.

If using sat nav please ensure you input the following coordinates exactly in order to reach the entrance: N52.823814 W1.333670

On arrival at the car park:
Drive up to the entrance barrier for your chosen car park and stop
The Automatic Number Plate Recognition system (ANPR) will read your vehicles number plate, verify this against your booking details and the barrier should then open automatically. Please note, this process may take up to 30 to 40 seconds to happen
If for any reason the barrier does not open after this time, please press the Assistance button and a member of staff will confirm your booking details with you and subsequently open the barrier to allow you entry
Please DO NOT press for a ticket to gain access to the car park, as this is not required and doing so will disable the ANPR system in relation to your booking
On exiting the car park:
Proceed straight to the exit barrier and stop
The ANPR system will read your vehicles number plate, verify this against your booking details and the barrier should then open automatically. Please note, this process may take up to 30 to 40 seconds to happen
If for any reason the barrier does not open after this time, please press the Assistance button and a member of staff will confirm your booking details with you (which will be the ref. starting EH in the comments section of your voucher) and subsequently open the barrier to allow you exit
Please DO NOT in any circumstance insert your credit card or debit card into the barrier as a further payment will be taken
