People seemed to park anywhere they liked because there were no staff on hand to direct people to proper parking spaces. We had to reverse out of each line of parking bays as people had parked blocking the ends of lines. We had to cruise round for 20 minutes at least until we saw a man coming in to retrieve his car and we asked him if we could follow himto his space. There were other people who arrived after us and they had the same problem as they spoke to us about what they should do. Also, when we were leaving we put our ticket in to the barrier and were asked to pay £70 even though we had pre-booked. It was resolved quickly once we rang pressed the help button - whether this was a security feature I don't know as we landed at night. The main criticism was trying to find a space to park. This needs to be better organised for people who have pre-booked.

A lot of confusion when leaving the car park. My details did not appear to be on record. Took nearly 10 mins to get the barrier raised. Not very efficient.

The car park is very close to the terminal, you park yourself, keep the ticket and walk to the departures entrance hence no comment about the transfers or facilities. An excellent and stress-freeway to park. However this time, the car park was very full and some people had parked over the pedestrian walkway, which was very irritating and on exiting the car park, the registration recognition cameras must not have been working, as the barrier did not automatically rise and I had to press the button to contact the parking assistance. As soon as my booking was confirmed, I was able to leave easily.

My car registration number was not recognised therefore had to take the trouble to confirm payment and get the release ticket from the car park office.

The parking bays were too close together. Just an extra bit of space would help avoid bumps from other car doors and make it easier with cases etc. The whole process was a good one though and I will be using it again if I fly from East Midlands.

It's a shame that there were luggage trolleys strewn around the car park. We saw at least three that had been abandoned and were resting on peoples cars. I would not have been happy to arrive back at the car park to find a trolley rubbing against my car !!!!

I stayed in Long Stay 1 car park. It is very convenient for walking to Departures 3 / 4 minutes but is a little longer from the Arrivals lounge only an extra 3 / 4 minutes though. You would expect this as Departures and Arrivals are at opposite ends of the Airport. I am flying out again next week and have already pre booked. Pre booking is so easy. Tip: turn left when you enter the car park as it it closer to the Airport. Alan

Although the car park was close to the terminal some of the spaces were quite a long way to walk and in the rain buses would have been appreciated.

During hot weather we recommend that removing all alcohol-based hand sanitiser products from vehicles when they are not occupied as they pose a risk of igniting and causing a fire.
Getting here
On arrival at the airport main entrance, please turn left at the roundabout and then follow signs to Short Stay 3.
If using sat nav please ensure you input the following coordinates exactly in order to reach the entrance: N52.823814 W1.333670
On arrival at the car park:
Drive up to the entrance barrier for your chosen car park and stop
The Automatic Number Plate Recognition system (ANPR) will read your vehicles number plate, verify this against your booking details and the barrier should then open automatically. Please note, this process may take up to 30 to 40 seconds to happen
If for any reason the barrier does not open after this time, please press the Assistance button and a member of staff will confirm your booking details with you and subsequently open the barrier to allow you entry
Please DO NOT press for a ticket to gain access to the car park, as this is not required and doing so will disable the ANPR system in relation to your booking
On exiting the car park:
Proceed straight to the exit barrier and stop
The ANPR system will read your vehicles number plate, verify this against your booking details and the barrier should then open automatically. Please note, this process may take up to 30 to 40 seconds to happen
If for any reason the barrier does not open after this time, please press the Assistance button and a member of staff will confirm your booking details with you (which will be the ref. starting EH in the comments section of your voucher) and subsequently open the barrier to allow you exit
Please DO NOT in any circumstance insert your credit card or debit card into the barrier as a further payment will be taken
